About Me

Hi, I'm Lucy

My journey started 20 years ago when I went along to check out a local martial arts class. I absolutely loved it! I had never felt so energised, so strong, so in control. Within a year I had travelled to Indonesia to learn more about this ancient art and, when I returned, I started teaching classes of my own. It was great to be able to share this amazing gift that had impacted my life in such a big way.

As my journey continued, I realised that not everybody wanted to train on top of volcanoes or break bricks with their feet! I got my Personal Trainer and Yoga Teacher qualifications so that I could help people achieve their personal fitness goals in whichever way was best for them.

Things took an unexpected turn in 2012. When my first child was just one year old, I was diagnosed with Hodgkin Lymphoma. After 6 months of intensive chemotherapy, I got the all clear. It was a terrifying experience and it took me a long time to recover. What I found most difficult was the lack of control that I felt I had over my body, my health and my life. It was a feeling that stayed with me for a long long time.

My experience of cancer and the desire to be around as long as possible for my 2 children compelled me to look deeper into how to achieve optimal health. What I discovered is that it’s all about balance. Yes, fitness is a big part of it. But it’s also about how we nourish our bodies and our minds. How we take care of ourselves physically, mentally and spiritually.

Do I have all the answers? Absolutely not. For me, it’s still a work in progress. One thing I have learnt though, is that we are all individuals, on our own journey. And as with any journey, sometimes it’s nice to have a bit of guidance along the way.

I offer classes, 1 to 1 sessions, dietary consultations and weight loss coaching.
